It Started With Our Family's Skin.

After years of dealing with dry, easily-irritated skin and trying countless products, we set out to create an all-natural moisturizer we could finally trust on our own skin. Hallow Tallow is what we made.

If you've ever stood in a store aisle turning over a bottle of "gentle" moisturizer — thirty ingredients deep, half of them unpronounceable — you know the feeling that started this company. We'd bring something home, hope this one would be different, and watch our skin disagree. Again.

The moisturizer we could finally trust, when we found it, turned out to be old rather than new. Tallow — rendered slowly until it's clean and nearly odorless — has moisturized skin for generations, and it's remarkably close to the oils skin makes for itself. We started there, then added just four more ingredients we'd be glad to explain to anyone: Manuka honey, calendula extract, jojoba oil, and cold-pressed organic olive oil. Then we whipped it, so it would sink in light and fast instead of sitting heavy. Five ingredients. We can count them on one hand, and so can you.

Why We Named It Hallow

To hallow something is to honor it as holy — to treat it with reverence instead of haste. We chose the name as a standard to hold ourselves to. It means telling you every ingredient and the reason it's there. It means never dressing the label up with words like "organic" unless they're true (in our jar, that word belongs to the olive oil alone). And it means making something we genuinely use on our own family, every day — because we do.

That's also why there's a haloed cow on the jar. It makes us smile, and it makes the point: honor the source, honor the skin.

Whipped in Small Batches. Always.

Hallow Tallow contains no water, which means it needs no preservatives — and that means it has to be made fresh, in small batches, not by the pallet. We wouldn't have it any other way. Small batches let us render slowly, whip carefully, and stand behind every jar that leaves our hands. You may notice slight variation in texture from batch to batch; that's not a flaw — it's what skincare looks like when nothing artificial is holding it in place.
